Texas County’s unemployment rate increased two-tenths of a percentage point to 4.7 percent in January, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The rate was slightly lower than the average of 4.9 percent in south-central Missouri.
According to the report, the civilian labor force totaled 9,001. There were 8,576 employed.
Other counties and their unemployment rates: Douglas, 4.5; Howell, 4.1; Shannon, 7; and Wright, 4.5.
