Easter 2019

Area churches will host activities related to Easter.

Houston United Methodist Church will hold a 9 a.m. Palm Sunday worship, April 14. An Easter egg hunt will follow at 10:15 a.m. A Maudy Thursday worship service is 7 p.m. Thursday. An Easter service is 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21, at an Emmett Kelly Park pavilion. An Easter brunch is at 7:30 a.m. Easter worship is 9 a.m.

The rally for Carry The Cross begins at 6 a.m. Friday inside Hiett Gymnasium on the Houston Schools campus. There will be worship, a brief message, instructions and a group photo. Carry The Cross is 7-11 a.m.

Cabool United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 19. Easter worship is 10:40 a.m.

Houston First Baptist Church’s choir will present, “The Lamb of God” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 14. On Good Friday, the church will participate in the community’s “Carry the Cross” event. A Good Friday service is at 6:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Simon Peter will appear at the 10:30 a.m. service. Children’s church will have an egg hunt on Easter morning.

Faith Fellowship will hold an Easter Egg hunt featuring 1,500 eggs in a maze of balloons at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21. A prize is in each egg. A free breakfast and family photo booths are planned.

An Easter sunrise service begins at 7 a.m. at New Horizon Church of the Nazarene. Breakfast will follow.

Ozark Baptist Church will hold a sunrise service with the Lord’s Supper at 8 a.m. Deacons will serve breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning worship at 11 a.m.
