The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•John M. Eberthardt, 58, of 19781 Bean Creek Drive at Licking, was issued a citation for violation of a protection order after allegedly going to the gate of an 82-year-old neighbor man’s residence and asking him questions on April 9.
•A 28-year-old woman reported on April 11 that several items of unreported value had been stolen from her Long Valley Road residence at Huggins.
The woman told an investigating officer she had seen several of the items listed for sale on another woman’s Facebook page. Investigation continues.
•On April 12, a deputy responded to a report from the Willow Springs Police Department that four air traffic control lights that had been stolen from Willow Springs were lying next to a garage at a 42-year-old man’s Freedom Road residence.
The officer went to the location and observed the lights (valued at $800) in plain view and seized them as evidence. The lights were turned over to the Willow Springs PD and the suspect was advised that he needed to contact the agency.
•Brenda Brim, 52, of 17100 Tiffany Drive at Houston, was arrested March 29 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for delivery of a controlled substance.
A deputy made the arrest at the private probation office in Houston after being advised that Brim was there. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and held without bond on the capias warrant.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 10:50 a.m. March 29 regarding a report of an abandoned vehicle at a Forrest Drive residence at Houston.
Upon arrival, the officer observed a gray Chevrolet Cruze set in drive with its engine running. The car was registered to a Houston woman and was determined to match the description of a vehicle that had failed to yield for a Houston police officer the previous night.
The car was towed and contact was made with its owner, who said it had been stolen the night before but she didn’t want to pursue charges.
•A deputy responded to a report of a burglary on March 23 at a Hogan Road residence at Houston.
A 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman there told the officer a key to a Polaris ATV had been stolen. The officer found the key outside by a back door to the garage.
•A 65-year-old Plato woman reported on March 22 that two of her goats had been shot at her Highway AE property.
The woman told an investigating officer who she thought was the suspect. The deputy spoke with the man and he said he didn’t shoot the goats. He said the woman’s goats frequently come onto his property, but they don’t cause any damage so he wouldn’t have any reason to shoot them.
The officer also made contact with a 54-year-old neighbor man and he said he knew nothing about goats being shot.
