A local man faces several charges – including two felonies – following a traffic stop Tuesday in Licking.
Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey reported deputies initiated a traffic stop during the evening hours on a Chevrolet Impala with expired registration on Reed Road in the Licking area. The driver was identified as Brandy Dewolfe, 41, of Mountain View, who was operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license.
During an investigation, Dewolfe admitted to being in possession of marijuana and removed a plastic bag from his pocket. Deputies observed it contained a powdery substance with crystals in it that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Drug paraphernalia was also in the vehicle.
Dewolfe was charged by assistant Texas County prosecuting attorney Jason Macpherson with felonies of possession of a controlled substance and driving while revoked (prior offender), along with misdemeanors of possession of marijuana and three other traffic violations. He is in the Texas County Jail on $50,000 bond.
