Angie Smith and Karly Drake both won events last week at the middle school track meet in Ava.

Smith won the seventh-grade girls’ 400 meters while Drake won the eighth-grade girls’ high jump.

Smith was also third in the 100 hurdles and fourth in the 100 meters. Addison Cook was sixth in the discus for the Houston seventh-grade girls.

Drake also had a fifth-place finish in the 100 hurdles. Delanie Rowland was seventh in the 200.

For the Houston seventh-grade boys, Carter Richards was second in the 400 and third in the 200. He also placed sixth in the 100.

Garrett Bieller had third-place finishes in the shotput and discus. Kolten Gayer was seventh in the 800. Dalton Ennis placed eighth in the shotput.

Will Kirn led the eighth-grade boys with fourth-place finishes in the 200 and discus. He was also seventh in the 100.

Josh Haden was fourth in the 400, sixth in the long jump, seventh in the 200 and eighth in the 100.

Zander Scholz was fifth in both the 100 hurdles and 800.

Kane VanHorn was eighth in the 400. Carl Fitzgerald was eighth in the 1,600.
