The Texas County Library system will receive computer equipment for a grant.

The Texas County Library system has won a $26,234 grant for technology, Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft said.

The money is among $570,991 in Long-Term Grants awarded to libraries in the state.

Texas County Library will use the funds to replace 30 staff and patron computers, eight barcode readers and one early literacy computer. All computers in the library will have up-to-date office production software installed. Outside technical support will assist with the project.

“Libraries are an integral part of our communities, providing Missourians an opportunity to learn and grow through the wealth of knowledge and services they offer,” Ashcroft said. “These grants are important to ensuring our libraries have the resources they need to provide quality services and programs to their patrons.”
