Thelma Lola McKee, 98, of Summersville, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, at Mtn. View Healthcare.
She was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Hartshorn, daughter of Charley and Vena Crabtree Barton. She and Russell Marion McKee were married July 8, 1939.
She worked many years at Angelica Uniform in Summersville and H.D. Lee Co. in Houston.
She loved to garden, can all produce and share with anyone who wanted or needed something. She enjoyed making quilts and cooking for family gatherings and church dinners. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Midvale P.H. Church. She spent many years there as a Sunday School teacher to young children whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Russell; her parents; a son, Paul McKee; a grandson; a granddaughter; four sisters, Marie Goetz, Ola Mae Harmon, Mildred Cook and June Stark; and five brothers, Virgil, Cecil, James, Ralph and Elmer Barton.
Survivors include a son, Steve McKee of Summersville; two daughters, Betty Bennett of Holts Summit and Judy Talley of Foristell; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were Thursday, April 11, at Midvale P.H. Church with the Rev. Robert Medley officiating. Burial was in the Midvale Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home, Summersville.
