Numerous people take in the sights and sounds on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston during last Saturday's inaugural Grand Festival.

The second annual “Grand Festival” is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston.

Activities and attractions at the event will include vendors, live music, a 5K run and dance and yoga demonstrations. Classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will line Grand Avenue, and prizes will be given away on an hourly basis.

Several retail businesses in the downtown area will be open during the festival, and some will stage open houses.

At the conclusion of the outdoor festivities, The Shortleaf Band will perform “traditional Ozark music” inside the Melba Performing Arts Center (in a show scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.).
