A Plato man is jailed on a felony assault charge after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation of an incident Tuesday at Plato.
Sheriff Scott Lindsey reported that on Tuesday, May 7, a deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Elder Springs Road in the Plato area. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a man with several lacerations on his face.
Lindsey said the apparent victim told the officer he had been struck multiple times by a man with a coffee cup and fist. The suspect was identified as Jack M. Richardson, 63, of 12620 Elder Springs Road, No. 2, at Plato.
The deputy said Richardson – who appeared to be drunk – admitted to being in a fight. He was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail, and was later charged with second-degree domestic assault (a class D felony) by assistant Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Jason MacPherson.
Richardson is held on $150,000 bond.
