The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Walter E. Bailey, 69, of 904 W. Spruce St. in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and failure to properly signal a turn after a traffic stop on Walnut Street at about 8:10 p.m. May 14.
An officer made the stop after observing a gray Nissan Frontier turn from Spruce Street onto Grand Avenue without signaling. After making contact with the driver – Bailey – the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.
Bailey was taken to jail and processed, and then given a courtesy ride to his home.
•Jackson D. Ranck, 20, of 502 County Road 1050 in Willow Springs, was cited on May 17 for driving with a suspended license.
•Fred J. Laux, 23, of 1130 Dewey St. in Houston, was cited on May 17 for driving with a suspended license.
•Taylor N. Sullins, 23, of 105 Sugar Maple Drive in Houston, was issued citations for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on April 4 and April 20.
The tickets were issued on May 9 after a Walmart official reportedly observed video surveillance of Sullins taking items out of the store without paying.
•Karen S. Nipper, 22, of 102 Red Bud in Houston, was issued a pair of citations for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on April 4 and April 24.
