The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Dale V. Cooper, 25, of 8573 U.S. 63 in Houston, was arrested May 14 for having an active Houston municipal warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge.
An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest after observing Cooper in the parking lot of the Corner Express Shell station on U.S. 63. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $400 bond.
•Jennifer M.J. Warner, 29, of 522 Ozark St. in Houston, was arrested May 11 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for stealing over $750.
An officer aware of the warrant made the arrest after making a traffic stop of a vehicle Warner was a passenger in. She was taken to the Texas County Jail where she was unable to post $50,000 bond.
•Jamie E. Baker, 35, of 704 W. Chestnut St., No. 5, in Houston, was issued a citation on May 14 for stealing under $750 after allegedly swiping an easel and a kids’ school desk from a 59-year-old woman’s Bryan Street rental property.
The property owner told an investigating officer she uses the items to stage her homes for rental and that she had advised Baker they were not to leave the house, but Baker allegedly took them when she ended her rental period.
Baker reportedly claimed the landlord had given her the items.
•Tara D. Blankenship, 44, of 1312 Briarwood Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated, drug condition, after a traffic stop on Augusta Street at about 4:45 p.m. May 10.
An officer made the stop after observing a gold Nissan Pathfinder with an expired license plate traveling on Augusta Street. After making contact with the driver – Blankenship – the officer observed signs of impairment and field sobriety tests were conducted. She was taken to jail where she was booked and released.
•Robert A. Toler, 35, of 305 Skyview Terrace in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated on May 9.
