An inmate housed at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died early Tuesday at Texas County Memorial Hospital, authorities said.
Darrell Brownlee, 55, was held on a 25-year sentence for distributing a controlled substance near a school in Cape Girardeau County. He has been in prison since November 2014.
Brownlee was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m. Officials said an autopsy will be conducted.
