Man injured in vehicle, tractor crash at Licking

A Licking man was hospitalized following a wreck involving a vehicle and tractor Friday in Licking.

LPD Chief Patrick Burton reported that officers responded at about 3:35 p.m. to a motor vehicle accident at U.S. 63 and Shafer Road. During the investigation, it was determined Donald Stephens, 78, of Licking, was attempting to cross U.S. 63 on a John Deere tractor and failed to correctly judge the distance of an oncoming 2014 Ford F-150, operated by Laura Gant, 50, of Licking. 

Stephens was ejected from the tractor, had broken bones and was transported via ambulance to the Texas County Memorial Hospital. Gant and a passenger in her vehicle sought medical attention via personal vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Licking Rural Fire Department assisted in the investigation and with traffic control.
