Do you or someone you care for have diabetes, asthma, heart disease, back pain, cancer, arthritis, fibromyalgia, depression or any other ongoing health condition? The University of Missouri Texas County Extension office in Houston will host free classes on chronic disease self-management from 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays from June 13 through July 25 (except on July 4).
Topics will include:
•The role of nutrition and exercise in self-management.
•Managing pain, fatigue, difficult emotions and depression.
•Medications and making treatment decisions.
•New ways to communicate with family, friends and healthcare providers.
•Weekly action planning and problem solving.
•And more.
The classes will be interactive, and organizers said “support and success builds confidence in your ability to manage your health while maintaining an active and fulfilling life.”
