During last year's inaugural Grand Festival, members of the Cabool-based Stars Foundation put on a clogging show on a temporary floor set up in the intersection of Grand Avenue and Pine Street.

Regardless of the weather, the second annual “Grand Festival” will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Houston.

Activities and attractions at the event will include vendors, live music, a 5K run (which will begin at 8 a.m. due to scheduling issues) and dance and yoga demonstrations. Classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will line Grand Avenue, and prizes will be given away on an hourly basis.

Several retail businesses in the downtown area will be open during the festival, and some will stage open houses.

At the conclusion of the outdoor festivities, The Shortleaf Band will perform “traditional Ozark music” inside the Melba Performing Arts Center (in a show scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.).

To inquire about setting up as a vendor or for other information, call event organizer Betty Richter at 417-217-6286 or 417-318-1208, or email emrich65@yahoo.com.
