Shirley Ann Lathrom Sillyman, 75, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, at Kabul Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Milton, Iowa, daughter of Owen Elmo and Ruby Laree Baxter Lathrom.

She moved to Cabool in 1946 with her parents. She graduated from Cabool High School in 1962. She and Jerry Lee Sillyman were married Feb. 21, 1969.

She began working at Brown Shoe Factory in 1972 and continued until the factory closed. She started at the Children’s Place Daycare in 1998 and retired in 2011 due to health issues.

She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, card games and her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jerry Marsh, and a granddaughter.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry Sillyman of the home in Cabool; two daughters, Linda Thornhill of Cabool and Tina Winstead of Sparta; a son, Paul Sillyman of Cabool; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; a sister, Becky Loughridge of Springfield; and many friends.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Evans Funeral Home, Houston, with the Rev. Darrell Loughridge officiating. Burial will be in Emery Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shirley Sillyman Memorial Fund c/o Evans Funeral Home, in lieu of flowers.
