Texas County was in second place in the spring firearms turkey season in Missouri, according to a tally on Sunday morning.
The total was 683 birds — 587 adult gobblers, 92 juvenile gobblers and four bearded hen. The season began April 15.
Top counties in the state are: Franklin, 747; Texas; Callaway, 646; Laclede, 605; and Osage, 578.
The season ends today (May 5).
