Robert “Bob” Jones, 68, passed away on June 11, 2019, at home. Bob, raised in Decatur, Ill., was born July 2, 1950, in Boiling Springs, N.C., to parents Anne (King) and Carl Jones.

The Decatur area is where Bob spent his life until retiring from Caterpillar, where he worked as a heavy equipment machinist. Bob and his wife, Gail, then moved to Bucyrus, Mo., upon their retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Don Jones and James Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gail (Burgess) Jones. Bob also leaves behind two sons, Bruce (wife, Melinda) Jones of Willard, Mo., and Jason (wife, Holly) Jones of Kenosha, Wisc.; daughter, Eva (husband, Ryan) Mahan of Springfield, Ill.; and six grandchildren.

Bob loved to hunt and fish and displayed several trophies around the house from his accomplishments as a skeet shooter. He volunteered as a youth shooting instructor with Texas County 4-H Shooting Sports. He also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
