Following a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation of an incident Tuesday in Cabool, a man faces multiple charges, including a felony drug possession offense.
Billy W. Mooneyhan, 28, of Cabool, is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanors of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and peace disturbance.
Sheriff Scott Lindsey said at about 7:50 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a Stack Road residence in the Cabool area for a report of a person making threats. Upon arrival, a man and woman told the officers that another male (later identified as Billy Mooneyhan) had made threats to shoot the man or himself.
Lindsey said the pair stated Mooneyhan had fled the residence into a wooded area before authorities’ arrival. Deputies searched the area, located Mooneyhan and detained him northwest of Cabool.
Lindsey said a search of a camper where Mooneyhan was residing led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Mooneyhan was arrested and transported to the Texas County Jail.
Assistant Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Jason MacPherson charged Mooneyhan, who is held in the Texas County Jail pending $25,000 bond.
