A Houston native was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Springfield, according to authorities.
Richard S. Mann Jr., 33, was hit by a vehicle that was driving in a northbound lane of Highway 65 near Battlefield Road at 1:10 a.m., Springfield police spokeswoman Jasmine Bailey told the News-Leader. Mann died on the scene.
The driver was cooperative with police and no signs of impairment were detected, Bailey said.
The northbound lane on Highway 65 was closed until 4:15 a.m. Sunday.
Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home, Cabool, handled arrangements and said burial will be at a later date in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Houston.
