Persons interested in learning more about Missouri’s black bear population are invited to open houses in south-central Missouri.
Those attending will learn more about the population, the Missouri Department of Conservation’s black bear research projects and management efforts. A draft management plan, potential hunting opportunities and how to handle conflicts with nuisance bears will be discussed.
The sessions are 6 to 8 p.m. A presentation starts at 6 p.m. No registration is required.

•July 18, First Baptist Church, 202 Walnut St., West Plains.
