Dale Lloyd Aldridge, 85, passed away May 15, 2019.
He was born March 30, 1934, near Simmons, son of Orris R. and Fern Hayes Aldridge.
He attended rural school at Pleasant Hill and French until moving to the Rocky Branch community west of Simmons. He completed his elementary education at Rocky Branch School and graduated from Houston High School in 1951.
He was employed as a mechanic in the fitting department at International Shoe Co. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1954, training as a radar tech and serving in Germany. He completed his service in Michigan.
He worked in Michigan, Ironton, New Jersey and Pennsylvania before retiring in 1995. The family made their home in Hagerstown, Md.
He enjoyed restoring and collecting Chevrolet Corvairs. He and his friends searched for parts together and attended car shows.
He was a member of the Mid-Maryland Corvair Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Emmitt; his wife, Sharon; and a son, Randy.
Survivors include a daughter, Norene Haines of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Oneta Farris of Houston; and many extended family members.
Burial will be Aug. 30 in Guinn, Mich. Cremation was under the direction of Potomac Valley Cremation Center.
