BRANDY R. DEWOLFE

After a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation in the early hours of Tuesday, a local man who was wanted on a resisting arrest charge now faces a fresh felony drug charge.

Brandy R. Dewolfe, 42, of 207 Sixth St. at Mountain View, is charged with felonies of possession of a controlled substance and driving while revoked, along with one misdemeanor drug charge and three misdemeanor vehicular offenses.

Sheriff Scott Lindsey said deputies were dispatched at about 12:45 a.m. regarding a report of a disturbance at an Orchard Street residence in Raymondville. A woman there told officers she had an argument with a man, identified as Dewolfe.

A records check on Dewolfe indicated he had warrants charging him with resisting arrest. Lindsey said Dewolfe fled into a wooded area behind the residence as deputies arrived, but he was located after a search of the area.

Dewolfe then requested the arresting deputy remove a bag containing his property from the residence, Lindsey said, and a subsequent search of it revealed drug paraphernalia containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Dewolfe was arrested on the warrants, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Texas County Jail where he was held without bond pending a court appearance.
