Zelma Mae McGuire, 67, passed away suddenly July 24, 2019, at Texas County Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1951, to Charles J Swind and Novella Zelma Barton in St Louis, Mo.

She married Charles McGuire on Oct. 4, 1969, in Granite City, Ill.; they were shy just three months of celebrating 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Zelma was preceded in death by her parents; a stillborn daughter, Cynthia; her brother, Thomas Gray; and a grandson, Eric McGuire.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles McGuire of the home; two sons, Robbie McGuire and wife, Emily, of Raymondville, Mo., and Clay McGuire and fiancée, Laurie Perry, of Licking, Mo.; six grandchildren, Robert, Angelina, Marisa, Philip, Lucas and JD; one great-grandson, Declan; a sister, Elizabeth Wellman of Goodland, Ind.; a step-sister, Beverly Cicenas and husband, Richard, of Valparaiso, Ind.; a niece, Samantha Ceaman of Eugene, Ore.; and many other relatives and friends.

She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, embroidery, cooking and baking. Her family meant everything to her, especially her grandkids and great-grandson. They loved her and she loved them.

Zelma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed and always in our hearts.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. Services and cremation are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Mahan Cemetery, in lieu of flowers.
