The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•At about 1 p.m. Aug. 15, a 44-year-old woman called 911 to report that a 35-year-old Rolla man had punched her in the face at her Amburn Road residence at Raymondville. The woman stated the man was drunk and was “tearing up the place.”
A responding deputy made contact with the woman and she said the man had been drinking vodka all day and had become angry when his girlfriend left the residence. She stated the man hit her when she told him to leave.
The man told the officer the woman had hit him over the head, but couldn’t describe the object she hit him with.
Both people were treated at the scene by an ambulance crew. Neither wished to pursue charges.
•Amber D. Kirk 31, of 303 E. 6th St. in Summersville, was arrested Aug. 17 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
A deputy made the arrest after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 137 near Licking. Kirk was a passenger in the vehicle. She was taken to jail and held without bond on the capias warrant.
•A 68-year-old Raymondville woman reported on Aug. 16 that her 47-year-old son had stolen her 1993 Toyota pickup valued at $2,500 from her Old Yukon Road residence.
The woman told an investigating officer the man had also swiped a chainsaw and battery charger with a total value of $700. Where the suspect was staying was not known, and investigation continues.
•A 50-year-old Bucyrus woman reported on Aug. 9 that a 50-year-old Plato man had stolen her 1990 Ford F-150 pickup valued at $1,500.
The woman told an investigating deputy she had given the man the keys to the truck and he was supposed to give them to his boss and not drive it, but he had been seen driving it on several occasions. Investigation continues.
•A deputy was dispatched on July 30 regarding a report of theft and property damage at a Mineral Drive residence at Houston.
A 25-year-old Raymondville man who was there told the officer someone had damaged a fender and door on his Ford Mustang (of unreported year) while it was parked at the location to be worked on. He also stated that several items were stolen from inside the car.
There are no suspects.
