A self-service Laundromat is available for use on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston.
“Country Wash” offers several washing machine options, including one 50-pound size unit, one 30-pounder and three standard size machines. There are also five dryers.
The business is owned by Texas County residents Mustafa “Moose” Alsadi and his wife, Juli.
“We saw a need for this in the downtown area,” Alsadi said. “There are a lot of efficiency apartments in this area and people were having to go all the way across town.”
Alsadi said plans are in place to add more equipment.
“We’re definitely going to set another 30-pounder in here,” he said, “so we have enough to service the whole downtown.”
A change machine and vending machines for snacks and drinks are available.
Country Wash is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. The address is 204 S. Grand Ave.
Country Wash offers 50-pound and 30-pound washers, along with three standard-size units. More equipment will soon to be added.
