After a Licking Police Department investigation of an incident on Aug. 23, a Licking man faces a felony assault charge.
Michael L. Cross, 29, of 134 College Ave. in Licking, is charged with second-degree domestic assault (a class D felony).
A Licking officer wrote in a probable cause statement that he was dispatched at about 8:50 p.m. regarding an assault in progress at Cross’ residence, and was advised that a man was choking a woman there. Upon arrival, the officer saw Cross on the porch while other people were inside.
The officer reported asking Cross what had happened and was told there had been a disagreement over money. The woman reportedly told the officer she had been choked two or three times and pushed down twice. The officer observed marks on her neck.
Cross was taken to the Texas County Jail and is held with a bond set at $200,000.
