A Houston police officer was assaulted Aug. 14 while conducting an investigation, Police Chief Tim Ceplina said.
Tina M. Dow, 50, of 510 W. Chestnut St., No. 4, in Houston, was issued citations for fourth-degree domestic assault, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after an incident at her residence.
At about 6:30 p.m., an officer on patrol saw Dow and a man yelling at each other on Chestnut Street and stopped to make contact with them.
After investigating, the officer determined that during an argument, Dow had struck the man in the face several times and pushed him down the stairs.
Upon advising Dow that she was under arrest, the officer observed her flee toward First Street. The officer pursued and apprehended Dow, but she reportedly hit him in the chest and spit on him. She continued to physically resist after being restrained, but was taken to the Texas County Jail and incarcerated for a 12-hour hold period.
