Officers from the Houston Police Department handled several investigations during the last week.

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Tina Y. Smith, 51, of 6965 Finley Road at Cabool, was issued citations for peace disturbance, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on Sept. 23.

An officer was dispatched to Casey’s General Store on U.S. 63 at about 8:15 p.m. regarding a report of a woman yelling vulgar statements at customers in the parking lot by the ice machines. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the woman, Smith, who was visibly intoxicated and denied making vulgar statements.

The officer told Smith Casey’s had asked that she leave, and a man she was with said he would take her to his place.

At about 11:30 p.m., the officer was dispatched again to a Chestnut Terrace residence regarding a report of a woman who wouldn’t leave. The officer made contact with the man who had been with Smith at Casey’s, and he stated Smith was being loud, had another man at his place, and wouldn’t leave despite being asked several times.

The officer made contact with Smith and advised her she had to leave, but she refused. The officer then arrested her.

During the process, a marijuana smoking device was located in Smith’s purse. She was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•William A. Stamer, 48, of 220 Center St., Apt. 14, at Licking, was issued a citation for stealing under $750 after allegedly making a fraudulent return at Walmart on Sept. 26.

•Michelle R. Tilton, 44, of 1120 S. Sam Houston Blvd. in Houston, was cited for driving with an expired license on Sept. 18.

•Renee S. Phillips, 57, of 506 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation on Sept. 19 for allowing an animal to run at large – third offense.
