Citations were written after several investigations during the last week.

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Margaret L. Beller, 39, of 1434 Thomasville Road, Apt. 1, in Houston, was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 63 at about 10 a.m. Sept. 20.

•Kristin R. Smallwood, of 177 Crestwood Circle at West Plains, was cited for stealing after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on Sept. 7.

•Ray C. Fields, 54, of 111 Ozark Terrace in Houston, was issued citations for discharging a firearm in city limits and peace disturbance after an incident on Sept. 17.

An officer was dispatched at about 2:40 p.m. regarding a report of gunfire at a Chestnut Street residence. Upon arrival, the officer observed two men standing in the yard. One of the men, age 48, told the officer he and Fields had gotten into an argument and Fields had pulled a pistol from his shorts and shot at him.

The man said he didn’t know if the gun was a .22 caliber or a pellet gun, but it was loud.

Another officer located Fields a short time later near his residence, and the first officer found the suspected weapon – a black GAMO pellet gun – near a row of bushes on Mill Street.

Fields was taken to the Texas County Jail, fingerprinted and released.

•Belinda J Bryant, 60, of 16464 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated (drugs) and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway after a traffic stop on First Street at about 8:50 p.m. Sept. 8.

An officer made the stop after silver Ford Focus traveling northbound on Grand Avenue in the southbound lane.

During the course of investigation, a half-empty bottle of vodka was found in the car and a bag containing suspected methamphetamine was found in Bryant’s purse. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking drug charges.
