Beverly Jean Nielsen Nelson, 87, was born to Daniel and Edith Petersen Nielson on Aug.18, 1932, in Norma, N.D.. She passed away on Oct. 16, 2019, at Cox South, Springfield, Mo.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by Ralph Nelson, her husband of 64 years; and Ricard  Nelson, her youngest son; her parents; and three brothers, John, Daniel and Howard. She is survived by her son, Ronald Nelson; and two sisters, Karen Peterson and Julie Grobe.

She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1958.

Her parents moved the family to Forest Lake, Minn., and started a gas station and convenience store when she was 16. She married Ralph Norman Nelson on Oct. 29, 1949.

She was a waitress, factory worker, farmer’s wife and sold real estate. She owned a mini donut food trailer, traveling with a carnival in Minnesota, and did flea marketing in Arizona and New Mexico. Mrs. Nelson loved to bake cookies and cakes, but hated cooking; which was getting harder to do as she was losing her sight.

In 1996 they bought a trailer park in Licking, Mo. In 2005 they moved to Houston, Mo., so that Mr. Nelson would be closer to the hospital. In later years she and Ralph would play Trionimos to keep their minds active. After Ralph passed, her sisters in faith would visit often to play cards and study the Bible.
