JANET BELL

Janet Ruth Bell, age 72, daughter of Sylvia (Cole) and Melvin DeWitt was born July 26, 1947, in Raymondville, Mo.  Janet passed away in the comfort of her son’s home in Labadie, Mo. 

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Melvin DeWitt; her siblings, Selma DeWitt, Mary DeWitt, Clyde DeWitt, Clyse DeWitt, Katy McGuire, Shirley Bradshaw, Velma Settles, Joyce Amburn, Peter DeWitt, Jerry DeWitt, Patsy Drake and Clay DeWitt; also her son, Bobby Amburn. 

Janet is survived by two sisters, Lavonne DeWitt of Licking, Mo., and Becky Sawyer of Houston, Mo.; three children, Floyd (Heather) Amburn of Labadie, Mo., Dawayne (Ronda) Bell of Houston, Mo., and Angela Fleming of Houston, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Krista, Jon, Jessica, Sam, Justin, Adam, Ally, Jeffery, Timmy, Abby and Emily; and 20 great-grandchildren. 

In 1988 Janet bought the Vikings 109; The Office as many of you know well, and have shared lots of wonderful memories there happy and sad. Janet loved to be with family, friend and patrons.

Janet loved her family deeply and would do anything for any one of them. You cannot forget about her fur babies; she loved her animals. Janet use to enjoy dancing, singing and gardening in her flower beds. Janet’s life changed when she was diagnosed with throat cancer in May 2016 and with the help of family, friends and her strong will, she beat it.  

Memorials are suggested to Friendship Cemetery in lieu of flowers. Online condolences may be expressed at www.evansfh.com.

Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Stigall officiating. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: David Amburn, Chance Drake, Nathan Clinton, Jon Amburn, Adam Fleming, Timothy Bell, Travis Sawyer, Trenton DeWitt and Justin Amburn.

She will be missed by so many.
