Kyle Duane Tarpley, 60, of Elk Creek, passed away Oct. 5, 2019. He was born at St. Anthony Hospital of Michigan City, Ind., to Richard and Carol Tarpley.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Tarpley in December 2018. Surviving are his parents, Richard and Carol Tarpley of Houston; one brother, Glen Tarpley of Houston; and one sister, Cheryl Strom of Licking; two daughters, Jamie Thode of Laporte, Ind., and Danielle Tarpley of Berrien Center, Mich.; along with one son, Jason Tarpley of Michigan City, Ind.; and one stepson, Steven Rightsell of Michigan City, Ind,; also many grand and great-grand-children; along with two nieces.
Mr. Tarpley was a graduate from the University of Phoenix in 2013. He worked at Durham Co., where he retired as the supervisor of the maintenance department. He attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Houston, when his health allowed.
Mr. Tarpley achieved many accomplishments in his life, along with a service award for his dedication to the Tyrone Fire Department, where he worked as a volunteer. He had many talents and interests, he loved to learn. He enjoyed dart shooting, camping, shopping, traveling and visiting theme parks with his family; he was a real thrill seeker.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Houston with Father Roy officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
