One person was seriously injured Saturday at a downtown Houston business when the victim fell through a glass front door.

The man, described as having mobility issues, fell as he was attempting to exit Ozark ReSale Co. on Grand Avenue.

Houston Police Chief Tim Ceplina credited the efforts of local citizens, a police officer and a TCMH ambulance crew for saving the man’s life. What could have easily been a tragic outcome due to a loss of a tremendous amount of blood, he said,  was prevented by the efforts of Mike Brannan, the business owner, along with his son;  officer Matt Woodmansee, Tammy Kirkman, a Houston resident; and those working at Brown’s Shoe Store. All mobilized to stop the loss of blood, he said.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
