As a result of a Licking Police Department investigation of a vehicle endangering people at a school on Oct. 4, a Rolla man faces four felony charges.
Lance V.R. Burgdorf, 30, of 4174 County Road 2050 at Rolla, is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk (all class D felonies).
A Licking officer reported that at about 9:30 p.m., information was received regarding a man – Burgdorf – driving a tan GMC SUV leaving the Licking Elementary School parking lot in an unsafe manner. Several people filing complaints indicated the vehicle nearly struck several other vehicles and went into a ditch before making its way onto U.S. 63.
Burgdorf was stopped on the highway and two officers made contact with him, according to a report. He displayed signs of being intoxicated and consented to a search of his vehicle, and a white capsule containing meth was subsequently found.
The officer reported that three minor-age children were in the back seat of the SUV.
Burgdorf was taken to the Texas County Jail and is held on $200,000 bond.
