MU Extension's Brandi Richardson said an upcoming food dehydration workshop can be a way for people to learn how to make jerky, just in time for the upcoming deer hunting season.

The University of Missouri Texas County Extension will host a food preservation workshop focusing on dehydration from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11 at the Extension center on Main Street in downtown Houston.

The class will be conducted by Brandi Richardson, Extension county engagement specialist in nutrition and health. She said the workshop can be a way for people to learn how to make jerky, just in time for the upcoming deer hunting season.

Cost to attend is $20 per person and interested people should preregister by Nov. 4.
