Howell County authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a missing Howell County girl.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an endangered person advisory concerning Destiney Layman of Mountain View who vanished on Oct. 11.
She is described as a white, 15-year-old female. About 5 feet-9 inches, 145 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes, braces and a scar on her chin. She was wearing a black and blue “hooey” hat, black pullover hooded sweatshirt, jeans and cowboy boots.
The patrol said the girl walked away from a school bus stop on Oct. 11. She was adopted several years ago and may be attempting to locate her biological family in the Poplar Bluff or Paragould, Ark., areas. Information has been received, the patrol said, that she might try to dye her hair or alter her appearance. The patrol said she has been diagnosed with severe depression and does not have her medication.
