The Houston Police Department handled several investigations recently.

The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Emily D. Rupert, 18, of 9023 Strawberry Lane in Houston, and Hailey L. Wilbur, 17, of 8785 U.S. 63 in Houston, were each issued citations for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on Oct. 25.

•Jonas I. Rowland, 22, of 1215 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, failure to register a motor vehicle and no insurance after a traffic stop on Highway B at about 1:30 a.m. Oct. 27.

An officer made the stop after observing a white Scion TC with no license plates traveling east on Walnut Street. After making contact with the driver, Rowland, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. She was taken to jail for a 6-hour hold period.

•Amy L. Dunkin, 37, and Eric J. Buell, 36, both of 1435 Thomasville Road, Apt. 4, in Houston, were each issued citations for first-degree trespassing after entering Walmart on Oct. 23.

Both had been banned from Walmart property due to previous incidents.

•Shawn L. Robinson, 32, of 495 Sixth St. in Summersville, was issued four citations for stealing under $750 after allegedly shoplifting at Walmart on Sept. 19 and 27 and Oct. 5 and 6.

•Dakota Vanover, 27, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 16, in Houston, was issued citations for fourth-degree domestic assault and failure to obey an officer after an incident at about 11 a.m. at the apartment complex where he lives.

An investigating officer cited Vanover for allegedly punching and kicking a 52-year old man, and then resisting arrest following the incident. The officer deployed his taser to detain Vanover after he refused to comply and made threatening remarks. He was then taken to jail.
