Suspects Danny A. Nungesser and Stacy N. Sartor

A Mountain Grove man and woman each face multiple felony charges and are in jail on $750,000 bond after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department investigation Sunday.

Danny A. Nungesser, 27, and Stacey N. Sartor, 35, both of Mountain Grove, are each charged with felonies of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, along with misdemeanor property damage. Nungesser is also charged with violation of an order of protection.

Sheriff Scott Lindsey said deputies were dispatched to Pointer Road in the Mountain Grove regarding an assault. Upon arrival, three women reportedly told the officers they were inside a parked vehicle and were approached by Nungesser and Sartor. A 3-year-old child was also inside the vehicle, Lindsey said.

The women reportedly said Nungesser reached through an open window and struck one of the women with a metal bar. At about the same time, another women reportedly exited the vehicle and was thrown to the ground by Sartor.

Lindsey said the alleged victims stated Nungesser continued to strike the woman in the car with the metal bar and then began to use it to strike the woman thrown to the ground by Sartor. Sartor then obtained a baseball bat, Lindsey said, and broke the windshield of the vehicle.

One of the victims was transported by EMS to Springfield for treatment of injuries suffered while being struck with the metal bar. She sustained a severe concussion and multiple contusions.

Lindsey said Nungesser and Sartor left the scene, but were located and detained by the Mountain Grove Police Department. Texas County deputies transported them to the Texas County Jail, and they were later charged by assistant county prosecutor Jason MacPherson.
