This pool would be replaced next year. Bids are expected to be opened later this month.

The City of Houston is seeking bids for design and installation of a new municipal swimming pool at Westside Park.

The pool project is funded by the City of Houston, through a sales tax passed by voters, and a $250,000 grant received from Missouri State Parks.

Sealed proposals are due by 2 p.m. Dec. 18.

The project replaces an aging pool whose wading facility has not been operational. City voters approved a one-cent sales tax in April. Half of the proceeds go to the parks and recreation department. Those funds will be used for repayment of funds that the city will lend itself. A new pool house also is expected to be constructed.
