Revenue from three sales tax collected by Texas County merchants are up about 4.5 percent in the first 11 months of the year compared to the same period in 2018, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.
Retailers collect three half-cent sales taxes that are earmarked for debt repayment of the Texas County Justice Center, upkeep and general operations.
For the year, about $1.02 million has been generated. That’s up about $45,000 on each for the year.
An extra bonus this year is the collection of county sales taxes on some out-of-state orders. Through November, $206,533 has been received.
