Smoke can be seen rising from a house fire through the window of a Houston Rural Fire department vehicle on the way to the blaze Tuesday morning on Miller road at Bucyrus.

Personnel from the Houston Rural and Roby fire departments responded at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday to a blaze that destroyed a home in Bucyrus.

What started as a flue fire spread to other parts of the house, authorities said.

The fire was at 14511 Miller Road. Two trucks and four firefighters from Houston Rural went to the scene, and help from the Licking Fire Department was also sought.

Firefighters said there was nothing they could do because the structure was fully engulfed before they arrived.
