The annual Shop With A Hero program that benefits children in Texas County took place last Saturday morning at the Houston Walmart Supercenter.
Organizers said more than $15,000 was raised this year and more than 150 kids participated, with each enjoying a $100 shopping spree.
Helping the kids shop were dozens of area law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, 911 staff members, Missouri Department of Conservation representatives, park rangers and prison corrections officers.
