Ashley Wilson of Willow Springs was one of 10 recipients of a $2,000 Phelps Health Auxiliary Scholarship.
Amid a highly competitive process, candidates were required to complete an application and interview process to be considered. The recipients received their scholarships at the Auxiliary quarterly luncheon on Dec. 6. The scholarship money must go toward the recipients’ college education.
Wilson is completing the one-year practical nursing (LPN) program at Texas County Technical College in Houston. She is expected to graduate from TCTC in August 2020.
The next LPN program at TCTC begins in August 2020 and applications are being accepted. There are no prerequisites for this program.
For persons who are already an LPN and are looking to advance their career, the next Accelerated LPN to RN program begins in May 2020 and seats are limited. More information is available online at www.texascountytech.edu.
