One person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Highway 17 near Summersville,  the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. The Summersville Fire Department assisted at the scene. 

A Mountain View woman was flown from an accident Wednesday afternoon south of Summersville, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Barbara F. Pittman, 83, was driving a southbound 2018 Jeep Cherokee that travelled into the northbound lane and struck a 2004 Ford F-250 operated by Scot A. Shockley, 43, of Summersville. The accident occurred on Highway 17 north of Highway WW.

Tpr. Mark Ritter said Pittman experienced a medical issue when the crash occurred. She was transported to Mercy in Springfield with moderate injuries.

Both vehicles had extensive damage. Pittman was wearing a seat belt and Shockley was not.
