blood drive
A Community Blood Center of the Ozarks blood drive is planned at Hiett Gymnasium on Tuesday, Sept. 14.

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a bloodmobile Friday, Jan. 17, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Texas County Memorial Hospital is one of 40 area hospitals that benefit from the bloodmobile. There is a shortage of Type AB plasma and Type O Negative.

During January, participants at all blood drives will receive a long-sleeved shirt. Each donation will be awarded LifePoints as part of Community Blood Center of the Ozarks donor rewards program. They can be redeemed online for a variety of gift cards or assigned to a variety of causes or charities.

To be eligible, donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and present a photo ID.
