The City of Houston will hold a public hearing Feb. 3 on a grant would help fund the connection of two walking trails in the community.
The city and its Houston Parks and Recreation Board will hold the 5:30 p.m. meeting at Houston City Hall. Input is sought on a Land Water Recreational Trails Program Grant that would allow connection of the Brushy Creek arm of the walking trail near North Grand Avenue with the Village Trail on Grand Avenue. It extends west to Airport Road.
The grant totals $250,000.

The Brushy Creek leg of the Village Trail opened in 2008 with crowds gathering to try out one of several segments under development in Houston.
Rob Harrington, director of economic development, said a discussion of the vision for the Houston Municipal Brushy Creek and Village Trails will be discussed and information about the application shared.
