An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death of an inmate Wednesday at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
Anthony Cooper, 43, was pronounced dead at about 9:47 a.m. at the prison.
Cooper was serving a life sentence on two counts of first-degree murder, four counts of forcible sodomy, four counts for first-degree robbery, four counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree assault and eight counts of armed criminal action, all from St. Louis.
He had been in prison since October 1998.
