HHS sophomore Tanner Lee scores on a back-handed layup during the fourth quarter of the junior varsity Tigers' 43-34 win over Summersville Friday night in Hiett Gymnasium. Lee scored 9 points in the contest, all in the second half.

A balanced scoring attack helped the Houston High School junior varsity boys basketball team overcome a dismal showing at the free throw line and beat Summersville 43-34 last Friday in Hiett Gymnasium.

On the way to leading 16-11 at halftime, the Junior Tigers (7-3) went only 2-for-14 from the charity stripe. Houston sank 1-of-2 free throws in the second half, and enjoyed the game’s biggest lead at 34-23 when sophomore guard Garyn Hall sank a driving layup with 4:30 to go in the fourth period.

Junior forward Jacob Moseley scored 11 points for the Tigers (including 9 in the first half), while Tanner Lee had 9 points (all in the second half) and Josh Smith added 8. Moseley also blocked three shots.
