A Missouri State Highway Patrol officer was hurt Saturday night when a vehicle pulled into the path of her car west of Pomona.
The southbound 1991 Chevrolet S-10 was driven by a 16-year-old Pomona boy. Tpr. Mayela Barron, 30, of Willow Springs, was traveling west in a 2019 Dodge Charger at about 9:25 p.m.
The boy, who was not identified, was flown to Mercy in Springfield with serious injuries. The officer was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains with moderate injuries. Both vehicles were totaled. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The accident scene sent 10 troopers there. Assisting also was the Howell County Sheriff’s Department, Pumpkin Center Fire Department, Willow Springs Fire Department, Pomona Fire Department, Willow Springs Ambulance and South Howell County Ambulance.
